Quebec forests are a finite natural resource. For this reason, we place emphasis on natural rejuvenation methods and logging techniques that respect the bio diversity of our forests. We adhere to the principle of shelter wood cutting and the careful selection of trees to be harvested in order to enable the entire forest to develop in a balanced way. This simple, efficient approach enables us to harvest the best trees while improving the growth condition of other trees.

Our supply of logs comes largely from public land in harmony with the Forestry Act and the Regulation Respecting Conditions of Intervention. This will guarantee that logging on public land in Quebec is done in forests that are set up in accordance with regulations and policies that reflect the Canadian Forest Management Strategy.
